Steve Jobs and Apple can get in big trouble with outside invaders. Now that jailbreaking the iPhone is legal, anyone can use an iPhone, on any phone with any application. This is good and bad news.
The good news first
The good news is those iPhone developers don’t have to limit themselves to access the Apple Store. Apple has long chosen who they let in and who they refuse in their store. With the restrictions turned off, you will see many how to jailbreak firestick open for developers to submit, download and use their applications. I expect to see a dominant store in the coming years that is similar to the Apple Store that everyone will use, but will have all the applications, no restrictions on it. When there is a demand for a particular object, someone will always take care of it.
Another high point of this is that AT&T will no longer have the iPhone monopoly. For a long time, their contract has restricted users who are not on their network from finding another phone. It has also been said that JailBreakMe, a site focused on iPhone 4 Jail Breaking, has devised an exploit in the Safari Browser that allows downloading PDFs, specifically the code that jailbreaks the iPhone and other Apple products.
One thing people forget to see is that even though Apple has lost a legal battle, you still have to buy an Apple product to have a jailbreak item.
The bad news
The cons of Jail Breaking for now will probably always be security, functionality and usability. You will always have to get development from “hackers” trying to adapt to the latest iPhone 4 OS.
This makes the security of Apples on their product a lot more difficult. If you jailbreak your iPhone, you automatically lose your warranty on your iPhone. Plus, jailbreaking is more for the tech-savvy user, reaching out to those who only have the confidence, or the guts, to risk their $200 iPhone for the sake of freedom. There is always the danger of downloading on the go. You can download a virus or spyware that blocks your iPhone or steals sensitive passwords and data. One mistake and jailbreaking your iPhone can become one of the worst ideas ever.
Adobe is likely to participate in the phone’s jailbreak since Apple has refused Flash programs on the iPhone. Now that it’s legal, Adobe will definitely want them back. The war between Apple and Adobe continues. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Last but not least, with the legalization of the jailbreak products, there will likely be an impact on the Apple Store and the amount they sell.
